What AdChanger is

AdChanger is one Mac app with two sides. People with a Mac use it to show one small, still ad in their menu bar and earn from it. Businesses use the same app to build that ad, choose who sees it and pay for the minutes it is seen.

MacAd is the product inside the app: the ad in the menu bar, next to the clock. It is AdChanger's first product and, so far, its only one.

Why it exists

People's attention already pays for advertising. Every ad someone sees is paid for by a business, and that money goes to whoever sells the space, not to the person looking.

AdChanger shares it. An advertiser pays £4, €5 or $6 per 1,000 verified minutes, and the person whose Mac shows the ad keeps 65% of every minute. AdChanger keeps 35%.

For businesses, the same rule means paying only for minutes an ad was really on screen in front of someone using their Mac, never for an idle screen.

Principles

• Pay per verified minute: a minute counts after 60 seconds fully on screen while the Mac is awake and in use, and the server accepts each minute once.
• See almost nothing: the app never sees the screen, keystrokes, microphone, camera, app contents or browsing history, and asks for no Screen Recording or Accessibility permission.
• People in control: the bar can be paused, snoozed or stopped at any time, and answers about yourself are optional.
• Every ad reviewed: a person checks every ad, its link and its page before it runs.
• Numbers published: the price of a minute, the split and the payout rules are on this website and in the terms.

Who runs it

AdChanger is operated by its founder, Yiğit Ali Kurt, who is the data controller for the personal data described in the privacy notice and the party to the terms of use.

AdChanger's database runs on Supabase in London. Whop handles card payments, payouts and ID checks, so AdChanger never sees card or bank details. This website is hosted on GitHub Pages and sets no cookies.

Where it stands

AdChanger has not launched yet. The Mac app is being built and its download is not public yet; features, including payouts, may not all be switched on at first.

The UK is the first market, with prices in pounds first (£4 per 1,000 verified minutes). Anyone with a Mac, in any country, can earn, and advertisers can run ads anywhere in the world.
